Steel Warriors believe that young lives should be built on steel, not destroyed by it.
We are a unique and innovative sport-for-good charity — the only one in the UK that melts down seized knives and transforms the steel into outdoor gyms. Through the growing sport of calisthenics, we support young people affected by crime, violence, and social exclusion, to develop the skills and confidence they need to build positive futures.
Our vision is to create a UK-wide network of gyms that empower young people to pursue their passions and achieve their goals, while building stronger, more connected, and compassionate communities.
We currently have four public outdoor gyms in london: Ruskin Park (Lambeth), Finsbury Park (Haringey), Langdon Park (Tower Hamlets), and Carpenters Estate (Newham), as well as one in HMP Brixton and a pop-up gym in the Sweatroom at Gymshark Regent Street. At these locations, our coach mentors offer free calisthenics classes to young people and the wider community.
We deliver programmes in schools and youth settings, and provide pathways for young people interested in careers in the health and fitness industry.
We’re ambitious to grow — opening more gyms and reaching even more young people and communities across the UK.

““Steel Warriors is a great charity and trying to turn a negative into a positive. Knife crime is a real issue in London so we’re going to attack it.””
“Cue The Steel Warriors effect. A three-fold impact, it firstly takes knives off the streets.
Secondly, it dissuades impressionable members of the community from being absorbed
into gang culture and, thirdly, transforms the area from a potential hotbed for crime into
something considerably more community-focused.”
“The Steel Warriors gym raises awareness of knife crime whilst providing a safe, positive community space and an outlet for young people, helping to take knives off the streets and drive home the message that carrying one is more likely to ruin your life than save it.
